this morning

getting colder and colder

for those cold winter evenings

found this book for a certain person
who can now while away those cold, dark winter months
embroidering the western wall or other scenes from the holy land on an antimacassar or doily
al-lo-davar / you are welcome

the vicar's exceedingly flat cakes

take 1 simple "foolproof" recipe
a bag of ingredients which cost more than 3 shop-bought cakes
and 50 mins later; hey presto..the flattest cake known as cake
tastes alright though-if you're a gerbil

the vicar's reading circle

during class last week we were chatting about what our favourite books were
that's easy
as far as I am concerned; anything by Jonathan Safran Foer
I am not going to tell you the reasons why because that's boring and pretentious, but you could read his books and find out for yourself
you can check him out here chatting about his book extremely loud and incredibly close and here in an interview about the above book

bits for tomorrow

today

I hardly ever buy magazines, mainly because a tiny perk of my job is that I get to sieve through them whilst pretending to be working
so I was very pleased to spot;
my friend anne who makes beautiful work, like the flower collage featured above
I love her broken butterfly series, which you can see for yourself here
go have a look-it's great work
